Sunday 12th November 2023 3pm
Four Hands on Two Pianos
Mozart - Schumann - Saint-Saens
Poulenc - Butcher
David Parry and Stanley Butcher will form a formidable Piano Duo for our concert in November. David is perhaps more well-known as one of the UK's leading conductors, particularly in the field of opera but his superlative piano playing has drawn praise from far and wide. Stanley Butcher is familiar to us from last year's Young Musicians Concert and his talent and technique is blossoming with each passing day.
They will perform the exquisite Mozart Sonata for Two Pianos on the new Yamaha Grand Piano (purchased this year) and the old Bechstein Grand Piano (purchased in 1905!) currently housed in the Belfry Centre. Completing the programme will be Schumann's Andante & Variations for Two Pianos, Saint-Saen's Variations on a Theme of Beethoven, two small works by Poulenc and the performance of a new work by our young pianist/composer Stanley Butcher - Paraphrase on Offenbach's 'Robinson Crusoe'.

Students from The Purcell School of
Sunday 23rd June 2024 3pm
In June every year, students from the Purcell School of Music undertake a small tour of North Norfolk, visiting local primary schools, giving a series of concerts. We are delighted that in 2024 they are able to join us at the Belfry Centre for a concert of various pieces performed as Solos and Ensembles.
The Purcell School is Britain's oldest music school. Situated on the outskirts of London the co-educational boarding and day school is home to around 180 musically talented young people, all of whom are passionate about fulfilling their talent.
The aim is to provide these young musicians, of remarkable ability and promise from all backgrounds, with the best possible teaching and environment in which to fulfil their potential.
Huge thanks to Alison Cox from The Purcell School for organising this for us.

New Piano Fund
The Bechstein Grand Piano which we use for our recitals dates from around 1901 and has been completely refurbished 3 times. Whilst currently still sounding great, unfortunately we have been advised that it is beginning to near the end of its life as a top class recital instrument.
Cromer Music Evenings has opened a fund to raise money for a new piano and hopes to raise in the region of £50,000-£100,000 through fundraising activities, donations & bequests.
For details of how to make a donation please contact our treasurer Gordon Partridge: gpartridge406215@aol.com
